Have you ever tried on a dress and instantly felt like a Disney princess? I had that experience recently when my last Lindy Bop order arrived and I saw this amazing Imelda dress almost winking through at me from the plastic wrapping. I was so excited to try this dress on and was delighted to find a dress with truly amazing colours and a great body fit! The Imelda is definitely gonna be a much loves spring staple for me this year!
The Imelda dress is a truly stunning one at that! When it arrived I couldn’t help but put it on straight away and was so pleased to find it fit me beautifully both with and without my corset. As a short torsoed gal it can be hard sometimes to find brands where the waist sits right but this dress to my delight fit perfectly. The print of this dress is also stunningly more vibrant in person than it was in the stock photos. As a lover of pink and a closet purple lover too, I’ve been trying to add more purple pieces to my wardrobe and this piece definitely ticked a lot of the boxes. The only thing I will note is I had to shorten the straps, but with my small rounded shoulders this is pretty much a given for me with strappy styles.
I must admit, frolicking around the botanic gardens in this gorgeous dress for this shoot I was half expecting the Australian equivalent of forest animals to rush out and crowd around me. The colours are so lush and with a petticoat it really does pop. The colour scheme through this dress also makes it a dream to accessorize with when you love pastels! So much of what’s in my accessories wardrobe right now will match it! This dress is made of a printed fabric pattern on polyester. It means it doesn’t’ have a whole lot of give (something to be mindful of). The bodice is lined which makes for comfortable wear and the open chest design makes for comfortable wear in warmer weather.
For sizing reference I’m wearing the size 18, which is my regular Lindy Bop size and found it fit me perfectly both with and without a corset. Aside from the straps that I had to take in, no other alterations were needed. Its also long enough to wear with my 26 inch petticoats, which I love. I prefer longer skirts on my dresses. Lindy Bop has continued to exceed my expectations with quality and fit in 2017 and I look forward to seeing what else they release in the future that fits into my wardrobe desires.
Now while the Imelda is sold out on the Lindy Bop Website, it is available from Australian stockist Gwynnies. If you love the print but straps aren’t your thing its also available in their Lana style and is on sale.
Til next time darlings!
