When the Troublemakers Play with Vixen

Now animal print normally isn’t my thing. Its not a print that I reach for regularly, nor does it get me excited when releases come out in it. I guess I missed natures call in favour for pastels, ginghams, bold prints and quirky patterns. But sometimes a dress comes along that’s outside your comfort zone and just grabs your attention with both hands. I found this in the Vixen Troublemaker Dress in vintage leopard print.

When Vixen first came out, I watched with eager eyes. The amazing boss babe behind Vixen was one of the first pinups I ever found online and I’ve loved watching this brand evolve and grow. When I saw the Trouble Maker dress get released I was originally hunting one of the block colours, but the vintage leopard print just kept growing on me! In the end I bit the bullet and asked Australian stockist Natasha Marie Clothing to order one in for me! With the exchange rate often hurting our wallets here in Australia, it was great to have the option to layby it before it came in. I was so excited to see it in person. Once it arrived Natasha had it out in the post to me and I was so excited to see this sexy as hell dress once I rather enthusiastically ripped off all the tissue paper!

The first time I popped my Troublemaker dress on, I was pretty much hooked. Its made from a soft stretch crepe which is insanely comfortable and is ideal for girls with porportions that are a bit outside the norms. As a pear girl, I normally struggle with getting wiggle styles that comfortably fit my smaller bust and my hips, while not being too loose on my smaller waist. I bought the large and it fits perfectly with or without shapewear! I also find the business of the pattern helps smooth my curves even more too, as it takes focus off any lumps or bumps I may be rocking at the time. The belt is also a wonderful addition to help emphasis curves as it nips in the waist!

I’ve also loved the versatility of this dress. Being longer sleeve and not too low cut makes it a work appropriate wiggle that I can wear in the office. But its bold print and curve hugging design also makes it killer for social functions alike. I’m a total sucker for a versatile dress that can take me from work wear to evening wear and this dress definitely ticks that box. I also found the zip super easy to do up (no catching and not too much face pulling) and the fabric very hardy.  I do love teaming this dress with red, for a bit of an extra pop and the Bad Girl hoops are also a perfect match for this show stopper.

I snapped up my Vixen dress from Australian Stockist Natasha Marie Clothing for $169.95AUD. Her store also has afterpay and zippay too. If you aren’t Australian you can also buy it direct from Micheline Pitt’s store for $110US + postage!

I hope you’ve all enjoyed this review as much as I’ve enjoyed this dress.

Til next time darlings

  1. It might not be your thing, but it so suits you. And I adore it with the red touches. What a great look! K
