Causing a Stir in Isabelle from Zoe Vine Ltd

Sometimes we find those super special garments that when they arrive and we unwrap them, they just make us smile. The ones that seem to just be made for you with their fit and styling. The ones that draw questions and compliments from strangers. The ones that seem to just make people smile. These garments are always a special find. They have a way of lifting you on days you feel down and giving you that extra spring in your step. I recently had this wonderful experience when I received my first Zoe Vine Ltd dress in the post. I knew the moment I unwrapped it that it was going to be a dress I’d be wanting to live in. On our first outing together I was bombarded with compliments and questions from people in the street and the print just seemed to lift everyone’s day. So being such a people loved piece, I decided to hit the pavement and brave the crowds of Sydney Australia’s Circular Quay to snap shots for this review.

This is the first time I’ve featured Zoe Vine here on my blog for you all and I must admit, I’m excited. For those who aren’t familiar with the brand, Zoe Vine is a vintage inspired clothing brand based in the UK who pull their inspiration from silver screen sirens of Old Hollywood and the original pinup girls of the 1950s. With quality and cut being a focus, Zoe Vine has definitely delivered. They aim to rework vintage designs for the modern woman and have a variety of dresses in both swing and wiggle styles. I was drawn to the Isabelle for her fun print and simple design and she did not disappoint.

The Isabelle dress is a revamp of a vintage shirt dress pattern, which is one of my favorite casual vintage styles. I love this take as it doesn’t have at collar, which I like but don’t always want in my life and the bright colours and white base make for a great spring/summer dress. The Isabelle features and invisible side zip with a button front. I was delighted to find this design made this a great dress for putting on with minimal risk to ruining my makeup or hair! And the flower collar means makeup transfer is minimal along the neckline. The higher neckline and short sleeves also make this a fabulous work dress for me as I can wear it and still look professional while keeping true to my style. The bodice is lined, which makes it super comfortable and the pleated skirt with just below the knee length is absolutely stunning on. The pleating detail is especially beautiful in person and really is a stand out feature in this dress.

The Isabelle Dress sizing is very generous. I initially thought the 18 would be my best fit but upon talking to owner Zoe about the fit, we felt the 16 was a better fit. When it arrived I was delighted to find it was a spot on fit and was also incredibly comfortable. I can wear the size 16 with or without foundations on making it a perfect dress for the summer period especially being made of 100% cotton. The belt is also a reinforced fabric belt which is also a great detail, even if it’s a small one. I find fabric belts tend to warp and twist but this one fits comfortably and gives the waist a great nip.

The print in this Isabelle dress also makes it super fun to accessorize. There are so many different ways to accessorize this dress because of the different colours through its super fun scooter print. Being such a hard core pastel lover I really enjoy playing to the pastel tones with my accessories and opted to follow that path for styling to shoot this gorgeous dress. Dresses with colourful prints really are so very versatile as you can play around with colours and I did cause a bit of a stir shooting at Circular Quay this day!

This gorgeous Isabelle Zoe Vine Ltd dress is yours for £99.00/$160AU + postage and I can attest its definitely worth the investment. Beautifully made, comfortable and absolutely striking I’ve lost count of how many people have asked me if it was made for me or if it was true vintage. A shower stopper in her own right, Isabelle will definitely help you steal the show!

I hope you’ve all enjoyed this review darlings as much as I enjoyed shooting them and you’ll definitely be seeing this beauty frequent my OOTD posts!

Til next time

  1. Thanks for the dress review, I was waiting for your post before I ordered one just in case there was anything I needed to know. It’s always hard to know when ordering from overseas . I tend to have problems with skinny sleeves that my arms don’t fit into !

The cut of the dress looks fab as does the print and you 🙂
    Cheers J

    1. It can be tricky ordering from overseas and I know I often google reviews before I buy! So I hope it helped. No skinny sleeves here, just comfort! Hope your love your new Isabelle dress J 💕
