Charlie Stone 1940s Magic

We all know I simply love shoes! Now days I have a large number of heels in my collection. But there are some days I just want something a bit more casual for when I’ve got a lot of walking to do or I just want comfort. I feel like this is a want for most pinups! Being an Aussie pinup as well, retro shoes can often be a big expense for us so I was delighted to discover Charlie Stone shoes last year and was even more excited to share my favorite pair from their latest style release with you all!

So for those who are new to Charlie Stone, they’re an Australian based brand born from the desire to have a vintage heel styled look in a flat, originally desired for dancing but are wearable every day! With a motto of ‘Our mission is to make elegance effortless, every single day’ they certainly hit the nail on the head. This is my second pair of Charlie Stone shoes and they are so wonderful for days where heels simply aren’t practical but I want to keep to my vintage look. Today I’m sharing their Parisienne brown shoe, which inspired by the elegance of the 1920’s Parisian fashion pioneered by Coco Chanel.  So what were my thoughts on these fabulous shoes?

Firstly, being brown they are a dream for me to accessorise! I love brown shoes and earthy tone dresses so they definitely suit my colour palette for the coming cooler months! These shows feature a non functional buckle in a T bar design with an ankle strap. There is a very slight rise through the sole, which gives the legs nice shape while still being a flat style shoe. The inner sole is also padded for comfort. Compared to my previous pair of Charlie Stone shoes, these did take me a little while to break in. Having genuine leather upper and lining these shoes were a bit stiff and restrictive on the first few wears. I ended up using my blowdry trick to help loosen them and now they fit a treat! I got my usual 38EU size and they fit wonderfully after the initial breaking in period.

Overall I’m SUPER happy with my newest shoes from Charlie Stone. They’re simple, functional but still oh so stylish! Charlie Stone ship woldwide, despite being an Australian brand and retail for between $150-$170AU per pair with free shipping worldwide! For such a good quality shoe I know I’ll get a lot of wear out of, these are definitely an investment shoe that you’ll get a lot of mileage out of.

Til next time darlings!
