Memory Lane with Erstwilder

Ah toys! We all grew up with them and even if you’re a 90s child like I am, you still know the ‘vintage’ toys of the eras before us and I think for everyone ‘vintage’ toys seem to hold a place in our heart of a simpler time for kids before technology stepped in so strongly. Its needless to say I was absolutely smitten with this latest release and I just have to share my favorites with you all!

For those who aren’t familiar with Erstwilder, they make quirky brooches made of layered resin with fun themes like animals, beauty implements and other things people love to wear. They’re based in Melbourne and work with a range of designers to produce their amazing pieces. Their latest vintage toy release is no different.

First up is the Sugar Plum Fairy brooch! This adorable brooch is one of my absolute favorites as I had a ballerina music box as a kid and I loved playing it so I could make my dolls dance together. I love the different pinks of this piece along with the glitter of the turner. This beauty is a fun piece that’ll appeal to any music loving retro gal!

My next favorite is the Matryoshka Memories Toy Brooch! I had one of these dolls when I was a kid that was a gift from a relative and I loved it. It was like magic to see these dolls open to smaller and then smaller til it was just such a little tiny baby doll. I adore this brooch so much and its definitely one that’ll get a lot of wear!

My lucky last favorite is the gorgeous Raggedy Anne Doll brooch! Raggedy Anne is such an iconic retro toy figure and I just had to have her as blue and red and one of my favorite colour combos. I also adore her little heart detail on her apron and she’s just so sweet!

All of these new brooches and more are now available at Erstwilder! But don’t forget to share the love for your Erstwilder stockists too! Their brooches retail for $39.95AU + Postage and they ship worldwide if you can’t find a local stockist.

Til next time darling!

  1. That sugar plum fairy brooch is so ridiculously cute! It really reminds me of my childhood too, and is such a delicate design. I love your bright outfit combo with these brooches, you look like a beautiful vintage childrens TV presenter!

    1. Isn’t it so pretty! Its probably one of my absolute favorites from the release! I felt it needed to be bright, as I wore so much colour as a kid!
