Covetting Cats with Lindy Bop

Have you ever absolutely coveted a dress? I mean like stalked the site after a sneak peak for an extended period of time kind of covet? Well for me, the Claire dress in cream cat print from Lindy Bop was that dress! They sneak peaked it in an Instagram story 12 months before it was released and I eagerly awaited its release and I love that I now get to share it with you all!

Dress ~ ‘Claire’ Cream Cat Print Halterneck Swing Dress from Lindy Bop

Shoes ~ Montpellier shoes from Charlie Stone (discontinued)

For those not familiar with the Lindy Bop Brand, it is a budget friendly UK based company that do cute and kitschy retro inspired clothes in a large size range. I’ve got quite a few lindy bop dresses in my wardrobe and love them for their pretty prints and with a high rate of fitting well on my short curvy torso. The Claire has been my first dress I’ve really coveted from Lindy Bop due to its colours and slight Egyptian feel to the print.

The Claire has also been my first Lindy Bop where I’ve had significant fit issues, which comes from my pear shape. I was so thrilled when my dress arrived. The print is dreamy and everything I envisioned. The fabric is comfortable and light. However when I put it on, the bust was massive. This is an issue I get semi regularly with dress/top purchases and comes down to my proportions of a smaller bust but a bigger bottom half. Thankfully in this case a trip to the alterations place which resulted in 3 bust darts being put in fixed the fit problem without having to completely remaking the top. For size reference, I’m wearing an 18 and have a natural 33 inch waist with a 40 inch bust. Just something to be aware of for any pear girls interested in this style.

Fit issues aside though, this dress has been an absolute dream once altered and while its a bit too chilly to break it out too often atm in the southern hemisphere, I cannot wait to get as much wear out of this gorgeous border print number as I can in the warmer months. Its open back will make it great for those hot months and the halter does up with buttons and elastic as oppose to a tie which has stopped the neck aches this style normally gives me. The side zip also gives clean back lines while the purple contrast waist band gives good definition.

The gorgeous Claire dress is now also on sale! For just $34au + postage! Don’t miss out on this gorgeous dress before she’s gone!

Til next time darlings!
