Under the Sea with Hearts & Found

Ocean life is one of my favorite things and I was so excited when I saw this amazing fabric available at Hearts and Found! I talked about Hearts and found last year and you’ve probably been a bit over seeing me wear their amazing cotton dresses over the course of this very hot Australian summer but I have no regrets and have LOVED the fact I can look adorable and comfortable thanks to this affordable made to order brand!

Wearing the Grace dress in Seahorse print fabric!

So for those who missed my last review let me do a quick refresher. Hearts and Found is a seamstress based in Vietnam who makes amazing vintage style dresses, skirts and playsuits in a range of fabrics. I love that her services can be standard measurement or made to order and you can pick a print in a dress style you like to make a unique style you love that matches you and your aesthetic. As a short torsoed babe, I love the customisable option as it meant for once bodices fitted my natural waist when it was too hot to wear my corsets and cinchers.

Gilda Dress

How the process works for ordering is you can select a predetermined fabric or you can pick to have it made in your own fabric. She has a range of fabrics from block colours, to gingham, polka dot, floral and novelty prints too! I chose the babe pink seahorse for this dress as I felt it was such a pretty summer design and would help me keep cool in the warmer months.

The Gilda dress features a gathered shelf bust, adjustable straps (a win for any rounded short torsoed girl), a fully gathered skirt and a nice sturdy zip. The dress is also fully lined in both bodice and skirt which is an added detail I really love. The fabric breathes beautifully in our warm summer climate and I’ve absolutely loved styling it with my many pastel and ocean themed accessories.

I must admit, I’ve absolutely loved having these cotton beauties in my wardrobe and have to fight myself to not wear them 24/7! They’re so incredibly comfortable, they fit so well and they are so beautifully made. The only thing to note is being cotton, they do crease a bit but its something I’ll happily contend with to be comfortable in warm weather.

The Gilda dress starts at an affordable $127.68Au + postage which is super affordable for most gals! I had my dresses within 2 weeks, which includes the shipping time as they use DHL!

I’m already planning my next Hearts and Found additions and I hope you’ve loved this review too!

Til next time darlings!
