Autumn magic with Elise Boutique

It’s hard to believe its June! The weather is starting to give its characteristic cold snaps here in Sydney Australia and winter has truly begun to push its way in and makes its presence felt. On the rare occasion, I do leave the house, I’m definitely favoring dresses with a 1940s flare and I must say I absolutely fell in love with the gorgeous May dress in Navy & Orange checker from Aussie store Elise Boutique.

Elise Boutique is an Australian boutique was designed by Thu Nguyen who is based in Sydney Australia. Thu has a love of vintage and takes inspiration from the 1940s through to the 1960s. Designed in Australia, they are ethically made in Vietnam in a workshop that employs single mothers so they can support their children, which is an initiative I really love. This is my second Elise Boutique dress and I have fallen in love with their quality, their versatility, and fit.

So the May dress. This is a really simple dress that really makes a statement. I love the simple V neck as it makes it a great style for pin-ups at work as well as play. The buttons also add a real vintage touch without overpowering the overall design. As a girl with rounded shoulders, I do adore the capped sleeves as they help balance my pear shape and offer a little arm coverage. It features a back zip which is my preference as I can pop the dress on after doing my hair and makeup. The zip is also good quality and doesn’t catch, which is a pet peeve of mine.

Did I also mention that this 100% cotton beauty is also fully lined. Making it a fabulous all year round dress for its breathability. This number also has pockets, which after all are a girl’s best friend. I’m wearing their size 18 for reference, which at present is their largest size. I can wear this comfortably with or without shapewear and I love the colour blend in it as something a bit different to what I normally reach for.

I hope you’ve all enjoyed this review! I loved being out (socially distanced of course!) in nature and self shooting again. It feels like a lifetime since I’ve been able to.

If you loved this dress, don’t wait to snap it up as it’s been flying out their doors! It retails for $179AU + postage and if you’re in OZ and Afterpay is your jam they have you covered.

Til next time darlings!
